Solid results were recorded for Asklepios in the first quarter of 2012. The number of patients has increased by 18.9 percent, to more than 484,000 patients, compared to the first quarter of the previous year. Included are the financial results of MediClin AG. This inclusion resulted in a revenue increase of 26.7 percent (of which 5.2 percentage points organic) to 748.6 million Euro (Q1/2011: 590.7 million Euro). Despite structural costs in terms of legal framework stipulations, the operating costs of EBITDAR increased by 41.0 percent to more than 76.3 million Euro.

Working in cooperation with MediClin should result in local advantages After a successful in 2011, the Asklepios Group closed the business year, maintaining its position as one of the leading hospital concerns in Germany. Thereby, the share in MediClin public limited company was increased to over 52 percent. Supported by high organic growth, the group recorded a patient increase of 9.1 percent to more than 1.7m patients. Correspondingly, sales increased by twelve percent to 2,577m Euro (previous year: 2,280m Euro).

New medical services generate growth of organic revenue and operating result In comparison to the previous year, the Asklepios Group has increased the number of patients by +14.7 per cent, reaching nearly two million. Thereby, their position as a leading private hospital group in Germany was once again confirmed.

Increase of more than nine percent in number of cases Asklepios Kliniken have expanded their position substantially by increasing their share in MediClin AG to over 52 percent. Moreover, in the past year, patient numbers recorded a significant increase to more than 1.7 million, a rise of 9.1 percent.

First full consolidation of MediClin AG Asklepios’s majority takeover of MediClin AG in September 2011 has helped the group report a sharp increase in third quarter turnover, up 8.6 percent at EUR 1,832.6 million (Q3/2010: EUR 1,687.8 million). It also reported a strong rise in the number of patients treated, up 8.4 percent to over 1,296,000.
