Dr. Broermann first studied medicine and chemistry in Berlin to the intermediate diploma stage in chemistry and preliminary medical exams in medicine. Subsequently he studied law and business administration. He graduated in business studies, completed the first state examination in law and took a doctorate to become Dr. jur. At the age of 26, he obtained the INSEAD diploma with honors at the European management school in Fontainebleau, France. Dr. Broermann then went to Boston, USA, where he was awarded an MBA with the highest distinction from the Harvard Business School.

From 1970 to 1976, he worked for the auditors Ernst & Winney in Boston, USA, and in Frankfurt, passed his second state law examinations and qualified as a tax advisor and chartered accountant.

Since 1976, he has worked as a self-employed lawyer and auditor, and until 1983 in association with auditors Ernst & Winney.

He set up Jupiter GmbH in 1976. The company develops and lets retail properties.

In 1985, Dr. Broermann founded the Asklepios Group which today boasts over 46,000 employees and a turnover of more than three billion euros. Asklepios introduced quality management and in the last 25 years it has refined it into a comprehensive system for quality management and patient safety.

In 1999 he founded Dr. Broermann Hotels & Residences GmbH to which the hotels Falkenstein Grand Kempinski, Villa Rothschild and since 2015 the Atlantic in Hamburg all belong.

At the beginning of 2017, Dr. Broermann set up Broermann Research GmbH. The company researches for its own purposes and for third parties. It focuses on the area of precision medicine in close consultation with Asklepios hospitals.

The Managing Directors of Broermann Research GmbH are Prof. Christoph U. Herborn, Medical Director of the Asklepios Hospitals, and Rudi Schmidt who runs the operating business of Broermann Research GmbH and at the same time is the Group Division Manager of Precision Medicine for the Asklepios Hospitals.
